Fall Grief Support Groups

New groups beginning September & October

Grief can feel isolating, but you don't have to navigate it alone.

This fall, Griefwalk will be offering a number of 8-week peer-to-peer grief support groups, providing a safe and compassionate space to connect with others who understand the experience of loss.

Our groups are small and supportive, allowing time for conversation, reflection, learning and connection. Together, participants explore the many experiences of grief while finding encouragement and understanding from others walking a similar path.  Held both in person in Guelph, Ontario as well as on-line (EST timezones).

Interested in joining us this fall?

We encourage you to reach out now.

Before joining a group, we'll arrange a brief conversation with you to learn a little about your loss, answer any questions you may have, and talk together about which of our upcoming groups may be the best fit for you.

There is no obligation to join - it is simply an opportunity to connect and explore the support that might feel right for you.

Groups begin September and October 2026.

Spaces are limited, so we encourage anyone interested in participating to connect with us early.

Reach out to Griefwalk today to start the conversation.

You don't have to wait until the group begins to reach out.

Sept/Oct 2026 Start

September Meet-Up: Grief in Everyday Life

Grief doesn't stay neatly contained. It can show up in the most ordinary everyday moments - at work, buying groceries, while making decisions, attending gatherings of family and friends, navigating friendships and family, or simply trying to get through the day.

At our September Monthly Meet Up, we'll explore Grief in Everyday Life and the many ways loss can affect our routines, relationships, emotions and a sense of who we are.

Through open conversation and gentle reflection, we'll talk about navigating everyday situations when you're grieving, including changing relationships, unexpected triggers, difficult dates and occasions, returning to familiar routines (or trying to!), and those moments when grief seems to appear out of nowhere - we call them grief bursts.

We'll also share practical ideas for making space for grief while continuing to live alongside it - without that pressure to just hurry up and "move on" or follow someone else's timeline.

Whether your loss is recent or many years ago, you're welcome to join us for an evening of connection, reflection and support with others who understand.

You are welcome to attend one evening or join us regularly.

Please RSVP to help us plan and prepare a welcoming space for everyone.

October Meet-Up: Change, Identity & Who I Am Now

Grief can change more than our everyday lives. It can change how we see ourselves.

After a significant loss, we may find ourselves wondering: Who am I now? Roles, relationships, routines and even our sense of identity can shift, leaving us trying to understand where we fit in a life that looks different from the one we knew.

Join us for our October Griefwalk Meet Up as we explore the changes grief can bring, the identities we carry, and what it can mean to slowly rediscover ourselves while continuing to honour the people and experiences that have shaped us.

Come as you are. Share if you wish, or simply listen and connect with others who understand.

Whether your loss is recent or many years ago, you are welcome.

ABOUT OUR MONTHLY MEET UPS

Welcome to the Griefwalk Monthly Meet-Ups.

We are creating a gentle, welcoming space for anyone connected to Griefwalk - whether you are new, have completed a support group, are waiting for a companion, or are simply looking for ongoing connection and encouragement.  These evenings are not support groups, but guided community gatherings where people can come to listen, reflect, connect, and simply be - with no pressure to share.

Each Meet Up will include:
• A brief welcome and introduction
• A short reflection, speaker, or discussion on a grief-related topic
• Gentle conversation and connection
• Space to sit quietly, reflect, or connect with others

We hope these evenings will feel warm, calm, and welcoming - with coffee, tea, books, memory table, resources, and a sense of community for those walking through grief.

Meet Ups are planned for the third Thursday evening of each month (subject to change) from 7:00–8:30pm at Lakeside Church Cafe, 7654 Conservation Road, Guelph, ON.

You are welcome to attend one evening or join us regularly with no cost to attend although donations appreciated.

Please RSVP to help us plan and prepare a welcoming space for everyone.

While graciously hosted at Lakeside Church, Griefwalk Meet Ups are community-based gatherings that welcome people of all backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences and are non-religious in nature.

Future Monthly Themes:

October 15 – Change, Identity & Who I Am Now
November 19 – Navigating the Holidays
